Dan's "Trick"
About a year ago we taught Dan a trick to get a cookie. My son, actually taught him this series: sit, shake, down, and roll over = cookie. It's obvious that we haven't practiced this in a while.
I have found that consistency and practice is the key to training your dog.

Sit and Shake
This video shows another set of basic commands Dan knows. What is not seen in this video is my hand signals tha that I use along with my voice. When I want him to sit, I use my voice with a firm command of "sit" and I hold up my index finger at the same time. This way he has a visual and verbal cue. If I have his attention, I can just use the visual cue instead of my voice.
